MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR CAPT. WARREN ROBERT ORR JR. Saturday, 11OCTOBER2007, US Volunteers-Joint Service Command served as the Military Honor Group to participate in the Memorial Service for Capt. Warren Robert Orr, Jr. whose remains were returned to the United States from Vietnam. The Memorial service was held at the Vietnam War Memorial in Westminster with an attendance of about 200 including Janet Nguyen, Supervisor; Mayor Margie L. Rice and other elected officials and honored guests. Capt. Warren Robert Orr, Jr. was reported missing in action on May 12, 1968. He was honored for the heroic action of assisting the evacuation of American military, Vietnam Military and their families and civilian personnel. Upon take off their C-130 was shot down and all perished. Chaplain (LT. Cmdr) Mike McKinney shared the invocation. General Allen Baumann, who served with Capt. Orr Jr. during the same period of time in Vietnam was able to share some brilliant remarks to emphasize how important the mission remains, "boots on graves," the honoring of our brave men and women who risked their young lives in service to our nation. Mr. Warren Orr Sr. was presented the flag that was flown over the capital given to the family by Cong. Gary Miller. After action report: "CSM Baum, et al, The troops were never sharper . . . their performance was
beyond outstanding. CSMs Ramil and Aguilar were as professional as I've ever
seen either actual or in movies.
